Leonard Cohen: the Second Coming

Tonight I’ll be doing a free event at the Battery club. It’s on one of my favourite subjects: Leonard Cohen, especially on how his popularity continues to grow more than five years after his death, with a slew of books and documentaries and even a TV mini series about him coming out in Norway and Canada.

There’s also a book coming out by Leonard: Ballet of Lepers, which he wrote in the ‘50s and filed away in a box after it was turned down by publishers. And today I received an advance copy of the new Willie Nelson album with his cover of “Tower of Song.” Maybe I’ll sing that song myself this evening.

The Battery is a members-only club, but I hope I can get to do this again at a public venue or house concert. If you’d like that, drop me a line via the contact page and let me know!

Here’s a song of Leonard’s that I sang in Oslo. Marianne was in the audience, quietly singing along.
