Up close and personal with Leonard Cohen: four intimate Zoom talks starting this week!

If - like me! - you’re a Leonard Cohen fan, I hope you can join me for this series of four talks I’m going to be giving on Zoom, starting this Thursday October 7th at 5pm Pacific Time.

Each talk will be 90 minutes long with a no-holds-barred Q&A at the end where we’ll answer as many of your questions as we can.

I will be doing the first talk alone. For the other three sessions I will be joined by a very special guest - in each case it’s someone very close to Leonard, who worked with him knew him well.

Session 2 - Thursday Oct 14. 5pm PT - I’ll be talking with Perla Batalla, Leonard’s friend and backing singer in the ‘80s and ‘90s, about Leonard and women.

Session 3 - Thursday Oct 21, 5pm PT - Leonard’s friend and record producer John Lissauer - the man who produced and arranged ‘Hallelujah, among many other songs - will share some amazing behind-the-scenes stories about Leonard the songwriter. John and Leonard co-wrote an album in the ‘70s that was never released

Session 4 , the final session, will be on on Sunday November 7th at 1pm - a different day of the week and at a different time. This day marks the 5th anniversary of Leonard’s passing, and, to mark that occasion , joining me for this talk will be the legendary Judy Collins - the woman most responsible for launching Leonard’s music career.

*Please note the times of these events are Pacific US time. 5pm will be 1am in the UK, 2am in Europe for the first three sessions. The fourth with Judy Collins, 1pm, is 9pm UK and 10pm Europe.

All the sessions will go out live on Zoom and are accessible by ticket only. Tickets can be bought separately so you can choose which sessions you’d like to attend. If you want to attend all four, the tickets are half price.

The series is in partnership with the Contemporary Jewish Museum which is hosting “A Crack In Everything”, the exhibition of art inspired by Leonard Cohen that began its life in Montreal four years ago.

Here’s where and how to buy tickets. Hope to see you there!
