Elvis, lockdown and ukuleles
Sorry I've not posted in a while. It's been a bit of a whirlwind lately. Much of the time I've been working flat-out to promote my new album Blue on Blue. But I've also been interviewing and writing about a number of stars - including Elvis Costello. The last time we spoke - five years ago - we met in his favourite cafe in Vancouver, where he lives with his wife, Diana Krall, and their sons. This time, what with the lockdown and the US/Canadian border being closed, we got on the phone, and stayed on it for hours. At one point, conservation turned to ukueles. "I love the ukulele", Elvis said. "And by the way I love your ukulele record."
Since we were on the phone, he didn't see me blush.
