The year before last - six weeks before he died - I spent five remarkable days with Johnny Cash at his house in Tennessee. He and Rick Rubin were planning to release a box set and I'd been asked to write the book. As it turned out, it came out posthumously. So this little hardback was my tribute to a man who struck me as Abraham Lincoln, Joe Strummer, a bottle of pills and a Bible all rolled into one.
Sold as part of the American Recordings box set.
